  • 🏛️ After an alleged threat made against Lansing’s Avenue Cafe on September 24th, trans advocates met with a Lansing City Council committee on Wednesday, which agreed to draft a resolution of support for the LGBTQ+ community to be considered at the committee and council meetings. Lansing Advocates for Trans Safety has urged the Council to declare public support for Lansing’s LGBTQ+ community, create an LGBTQ+ board, and provide funding for LGBTQ+ venues to implement safety measures.

  • 📊 According to a survey released on Wednesday, in 2025, only 31% of trans people report being accepted by their parents, 24% by coworkers, 11% by extended family, and 58% by siblings and friends.

  • 🏳️‍🌈✊🏿🏫 On Thursday, a survey was released that found that LGBTQ+ students of color want schools to proactively support students, implement policies addressing discrimination, protect confidentiality, and acknowledge that other factors beyond their LGBTQ+ identity contribute to mental health struggles.

  • 🏳️‍🌈🏛️ According to a new survey, in response to anti-LGBTQ politics and laws, 55% of LGBTQ adults in the U.S. have taken steps to be less visible as LGBTQ in their community and 43% of trans people have considered moving to a different state.

  • 🏳️‍🌈⚖️ On October 1st, the Michigan Supreme Court approved a new Code of Conduct intended to prevent judges from allowing bias or prejudice to impact their actions, but did not include language that specifically mentions gender identity, sexual orientation, or other characteristics, which were in an earlier draft.
