🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🕯️ On July 25th, a man drove a vehicle into a crowd near Berlin Pride festivities in Germany and began attacking people with a knife, killing 1 person and injuring 29 others before fleeing the scene. The suspect was later found and shot dead after running towards police with a knife.

🏳️‍🌈⚕️🩸 Last week, at the International AIDS Conference in Brazil, amfAR released a study revealing that 1,700 HIV care sites around the globe have closed due to the Trump administration's budget cuts. Services tailored to marginalized populations such as sex workers, queer men, trans people, and people who use injection drugs were especially likely to be shut down.

🏳️‍🌈⚕️🏛️ In June, the Trump administration notified the CDC that it will be ending a years-long $46 million community grant program for organizations providing HIV testing, PrEP, DoxyPEP, and care referrals, and will be diverting those funds to state health departments to choose where to allocate them. This loss of direct federal funding is expected to particularly affect community organizations serving Black, Latine, and LGBTQ+ people, as well as people in the South.

🏳️‍⚧️🚓 On Tuesday, a study was released showing that California police are much more likely to search and arrest people they perceive as transgender during police stops compared to those they perceive as cisgender, despite similar rates of contraband discovery across all perceived gender groups.

🏳️‍🌈🏫⚖️ On July 24th, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction requiring the Grosse Pointe Public School System in southeast Michigan to end its ban on a parent from entering district facilities after having posted online statements calling teachers groomers for having rainbow flags in classrooms, ruling that the district likely violated the parent's 1st Amendment rights.
