To Our Allies

Following today's Supreme Court decision, here's what it means—and how allies can show up for the trans community.

Today, we need you.

If you have ever wondered what it means to be an ally, this is one of those moments.

Transgender people should not have to carry the weight of today's Supreme Court ruling alone.

Today is your opportunity to help shoulder that burden.

people lined up and one person with a sign laying down that says trans people deserve peace not permission

If you're able, we hope you'll make a donation to Queer Trans Project. Your support helps us provide free gender-affirming resources to transgender and gender non-conforming people across the country—reminders that they are seen, valued, and loved.

But if donating to QTP isn't possible today, we encourage you to support a transgender person in your own community.

Buy them a coffee.

Treat them to lunch.

Gift them a massage.

Book them a sound bath.

Send them flowers.

Offer to help with groceries.

Check in with them.

Sit with them.

Or simply give them a hug.

Today isn't about grand gestures. It's about reminding transgender people that they are not alone.

What today's decision means

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states may ban transgender girls and women from participating on female school sports teams. The Court held that these laws do not violate Title IX or the Equal Protection Clause.

What this means:

  • States with these bans may continue enforcing them.

  • Transgender students in those states may continue to be excluded from participating on girls' and women's school sports teams.

  • Many advocates believe this decision could influence future legal challenges involving transgender rights.

What this does not mean:

  • It does not outlaw gender-affirming care.

  • It does not change your identity or your worth.

  • It does not end the fight for transgender equality.

As Pride Month comes to a close, remember that Pride has never been just a celebration. It has always been a promise that we will show up for one another, especially when times are hard.

So today, we're asking you to do exactly that.

Show up.

Whether that's through a donation, an act of kindness, or simply reaching out to a transgender person in your life and reminding them they're loved, your support matters.

We can't change today's decision. But we can choose how we respond to it. Let's respond with love, generosity, and unwavering support for transgender people.

To our trans community:

We see you.

We love you.

We're with you.

Today and every day after.

With Love Always,
