Hi QTP Cutie,
We’re reaching out from our new home. The Queer Trans Project has officially moved our newsletter to Buttondown to ensure our community’s data stays secure and our updates reach you faster.
You don’t need to do anything to stay on the list. We’ve got you covered.
The reality right now
While we’ve been busy moving behind the scenes, the legislative landscape for our community has become increasingly urgent.
So far in 2026 alone, 28 anti-trans bills have already passed across 13 states, many focused on stripping access to healthcare.
The attack on healthcare access
Tennessee (HB2498/HB1665)
Restricts public insurance coverage and limits how providers can discuss gender identity with minors.Utah (HB0174)
Bans hormonal transgender treatment for minors.Wyoming (SF0001)
Prohibits the use of state or federal funds for gender-transition procedures.Idaho (H0822)
Introduces new barriers for pediatric social and medical transitions.
Why we fight
When access is restricted, we show up.
The Queer Trans Project is POC-founded and community-led. Our founder started this program after struggling to access gender-affirming items themselves, facing the same financial and systemic barriers many in our community still experience today.
We believe gender-affirming care is a basic need, not a luxury.
Our Build-a-Queer Kits — including binders, packers, and other essentials — are and will always be 100% free.
No one should have to choose between their identity and their survival.
How you can help
Through grants and community support, we provide these kits at no cost.
Today, we are kicking off our 2026 Donation Drive to keep this work going.
$10 = one kit shipped to someone who needs it.
If you can’t donate today, sharing our sign-up link with someone who needs resources makes a real impact.
Thank you for standing with us — in this move and in this fight.
In solidarity,
The Queer Trans Project Team

I hope I get a free kit because I have been struggling for many years now with body dysmorphia and just not feeling OK in my own skin everybody around me looking at me like I’m the alien and it makes me feel really uncomfortable with being biologically female and just not feeling OK with it and having a larger chest size is also not very comfortable
