DASH PLATYPUS CHAPTER ONE: DANGER BEARS A DUCK-BILL!
A short update this time out, but I figured everyone should know that the first chapter of DASH PLATYPUS, one of my big new comics projects for 2024, is now available--but only for subscribers to my Patreon!

DASH has been the focus of my creative muscles for the last few months, when the concept more or less bubbled into my brain fully-formed, and despite having projects I've been working on longer, it shoved its way to the front of the line and requested and required that I get it down on paper. Which is totally something Dash himself would do, honestly.
As I've said, the plan is to start cranking out new comics material at a good clip in the back half of 2024, and to enable this I'm adopting a format of short, mostly 4-6 page issues, sort of like how British comics mags like 2000 AD do it. I think it's actually a really cool format, and the short page counts are a good mechanism for focused, tight storytelling. Plus, Dash Platypus is a comic I've found I can crank out pretty quickly, so I'm planning, once I launch properly, to put up a new chapter of this thrilling saga every month. This first issue is actually bonus-sized, being the exciting origin of the Mean Monotreme, and is the first of several issues that will be up on Patreon before the general reading public gets a chance to read it! Bask in the glory of being the chosen few!
(And seriously: a huge thank you to those of you who have been donating to this Patreon for the last few years, even as it's been a little content-light and lacking in comic material. Obviously, that's all changing now! It really means a lot to me that there are still people interested in my work, and I'm hoping to reward your patience with lots more comics in 2024!)

Also, just a regular reminder that if you're a comics type, you might want to join the Cartoonist Co-op, a community of creators who are banding together to promote each other's work, collaborate, network and make connections, help each other out, share (and create) resources, and just generally provide a community for comics folks. They do online educational forums and drawing nights, write articles, and launch promotional campaigns for major releases by members.
