Loyola athletics - Track dominates Crespi - three Cub golfers card even par against L. B. Wilson - LAX wins close one

Cub cinder men race past Crespi, 102-18
Loyola dominated in a Mission League home dual meet against Crespi on Monday, outscoring the Celts 102-18. The Cubs swept in the 800, 1600, 110 HH, 300IH,and pole vault. Loyola is 4-0 in the Mission League.

Loyola golfers continue to impress
In a non-league meet on Monday against traditional links powerhouse L.B. Wilson, Loyola had three golfers card even par 72's. The trio of Cub golfers whose par outings at Lakewood Country Club led Loyola to a 367-381 victory over the Bruins were BRIAN ARNOLD, CONNOR BROWN and DAVID NUNEZ..

Cub lacrosse hangs on against Oaks Christian
After suffering a deflating 8-4 defeat to St. Margaret Episcopal School of San Juan Capistrano on Saturday, Loyola's varsity lacrosse team held on for a 9-8 win against number six-ranked Oaks Christian on Tuesday night on the pitch at Bob Smith Field. Faceoff ace AIDAN HESSE won an incredible 19 of 21 faceoffs against the Lions. Junior SPEED FRY led all Cub scorers with three goals.

Loyola volleyball sweeps St. Francis to remain undefeated in Mission League 
Loyola's varsity volleyball team remained undefeated in Mission League competition with a 25-16, 25-17, 25-12 sweep of St. Francis at Leavey Gymnasium on Tuesday night. The Cubs, who will play at West Hills Chaminade on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m, improved to 5-0 in conference and 12-1 overall. Loyola's three-set win Saturday over Redondo Union catapulted the Cubs to the number three ranking in this week's CIF Southern section Division I coaches poll.

Cub baseball drops first two of three-game series against top-ranked Notre Dame
On Monday, the Cubs baseball squad fell to the Southland's number one-ranked team, Notre Dame, 6-1 at home in the first of a three game series against the Knights. On Tuesday in Sherman Oaks, Notre Dame edged Loyola, 3-2.  The Cubs will take on the Knights in the final contest of the series at Notre Dame on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in Sherman Oaks.

Loyola swim team cruises against Alemany
On Tuesday at Conn Pool, Loyola's top flight swim club cruised past Alemany, which fields probably the second best aquatics squad in the Mission League, by a score of 119-50.5. The Cubs are scheduled to host Notre Dame tomorrow afternoon at 3:15 p.m.
