Loyola athletics - Loyola volleyball named National Team of the Year

Loyola's varsity volleyball team named National Team of the Year
Loyola varsity volleyball head coach MICHAEL BOEHLE '84 received good news on August 1 as his 2017 varsity volleyball squad was named National Team of the Year by volleyballMag.com, which is considered the foremost authority on national prep volleyball.

Boehle was lauded for sustaining the Cubs' status as a perennial national prep volleyball powerhouse. Boehle's Loyola teams have played in eight of the last nine state regional championships, won six CIF Southern Section titles and two national championships.  The Cubs have a 13-4 record against rival Corona del Mar.  In the state regionals Loyola dominated as the Cubs did not lose a single set.

The Cubs finished the year with an overall record of 30-2, and vanquished the only two teams that had defeated them (Oak Park and Corona del Mar) en route to the California Interscholastic Federation Southern California Regional championship.
