Loyola athletics - Lacrosse no.1 in preseason poll

Loyola lacrosse enters 2017 campaign ranked number 1 in MaxLaxLA Preseason coaches poll
Since prep lacrosse was established in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties region in the first decade of the New Milenium, Loyola was the first Los Angeles area school to win a Southern Section (L.A./Orange County) title when the Cubs stormed to victory in the L.A. vs. Orange County championship match last spring.

Loyola, which finished 20-4 in 2016, returns at least eight players from last season's title squad who have committed to play collegiate lacrosse.  It is therefore not at all surprising that the Cubs were ranked first in the 2017 MaxLaxLA preseason Los Angeles region coaches poll released Monday.  The talented Loyola squad garnered 27 first-place votes out of the 30 ballots submitted.  Cubs archrival Palos Verdes was ranked second.
