Loyola's five time defending CIF Southern Section Central Division champion varsity golf team defeated traditional Southern Section power Los Alamitos, 194-204, for the second time this season at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach on Wednesday to improve the undefeated Cubs' record to 10-0. Loyola's CONNOR BROWN was the low scorer in the match, carding a one-under 36.

The undefeated Cub swim and dive team continued its tidal wave of dominance in a Mission League dual meet against Crespi on Thursday as Loyola downed the Celts 121-50.

Ranked second in the U.S. Lacrosse Los Angeles Region coaches' poll, Loyola's LAX squad defeated Chaminade, 13-5, in West Hills on Tuesday. On Thursday, the Cubs rocked Crespi, 20-4. Loyola travels to San Francisco to take on brother Jesuit school, St. Ignatius, on Saturday. The Wildcats are one of the best teams in the West.

On Thursday, Loyola's undefeated track and field team raced past Mission League foe St. Francis in La Canada, 83-42.
Fourteen Cubs are slated to participate in the Arcadia Invitational tonight and tomorrow. In addition to individual entries, Loyola will compete in the Men's Distance Medley Invitational, the 4 X 400 Invitational Relay and the 4 X 800 Invitational Relay. The Arcadia Invitational is the most prestigious interscholastic track and field invitational in the nation. The event annually draws many of the best track and field athletes from across the United States and even some foreign countries.

Loyola's baseball team was hoping to get back in the playoff hunt this week, but those aspirations were dashed by Chaminade as the Eagles swept the Cubs, 8-2, 2-1, and 4-1, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. With one of the club's top pitchers being sidelined with an injury, the going has been rough. While the prospects of making the playoff cut appear bleak, Loyola has nine Mission League contests remaining. The margin for error, though, is razor thin.
