Annual rivalry match between Loyola and Mira Costa at UCLA tonight
Every year when volleyball archrivals Loyola and Mira Costa meet in their non-league match thousands of spectators flock to witness what is invariably as intense a prep sporting event as there is. Tonight's match between the defending CIF Southern Section Division I champion Cubs and the Mustangs will be played at the John Wooden Center which is located just northeast of Pauley Pavilion on the campus at UCLA.
Coach MICHAEL BOEHLE '84 is encouraging all Cub supporters to arrive early for the match which gets underway at 7:00 p.m. The best place to park is in lot 7 off of Sunset Boulevard. The freshman match is at 4:00 p.m., followed by the JV tilt at 5:00 p.m. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.
In Loyola's final tuneup for tonight's long awaited battle, the Cubs easily downed Chaminade on Thursday evening in West Hills, 25-9, 25-20, 25-17. The Cubs are currently ranked second in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches poll.

Loyola's five-time defending CIF Southern Section Division I champion varsity golf team continues to dominate on the links. On Thursday at Harding Golf Course the Cubs won Mission League Meet No. 2 with a low score of 371. Once again the indivual low score was posted by PARKER LESTZ, who shot a three-under 69.
Undefeated Cub track team to run against Crespi today
Loyola's undefeated track team will try to keep its undefeated dual meet record intact today as the Cubs will be racing against Crespi Carmelite in Encino at 3:15 p.m.

Off to a rough start in Mission League play, the Cubs' varsity baseball team hopes to get off the schneid today against Alemany in the final contest of a three-game Mission League series in Mission Hills.

Loyola's lacrosse team, ranked fifth in the West by US Lacrosse Magazine and number one in the L.A. Region by area coaches, will travel to Studio City on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. game against the number two-ranked (L.A. Region) Wolverines of Harvard-Westlake. The contest promises to be highly intense.
