Cub baseball sweeps Crespi in first Mission League series
On Saturday in the second game of a Mission League doubleheader against Crespi at Hartunian Field in Encino, Loyola's varsity baseball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull out a 6-4 win and complete a three- game sweep of the Celts. In the opening tilt senior GARRETT SPICUZZA pitched a complete game, allowed only four hits and struck out eight in the Cubs' 3-0 victory.  On Friday, Loyola outlasted Crespi, 12-10, in a hitters' slug fest. The Cubs host undefeated Notre Dame (8-0, 3-0) in the first contest of a three-game Mission League series at Mark P. Robinson Diamond. The Knights are the top ranked team in the Southland according to the Los Angeles Times. Loyola is 6-2 overall.

Loyola volleyball takes out the broom against Redondo Union
The Cub varsity volleyball team improved its overall record to 11-1 in a three-set, 26-24, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of third-ranked Redondo Union at Leavey Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The sweep of the Sea Hawks should move fifth-ranked Loyola up in this week's CIF Southern Section Division I coaches' poll.
