Loyola golf team wins Oakmont Invitational, paced by Nunez's sizzling 67
Loyola junior DANIEL NUNEZ carded a five-under par 67 at Oakmont Country Club on Monday to lead the Cub golf team to the Oakmont Invitational championship. Nunez's score beat the closest competitor's by seven strokes. There are PGA golfers who would be ecstatic with a 67 on the treacherous Oakmont course.

Cub swim team trounces Murrieta Valley, 119-51
On Monday, Loyola's varsity swim squad trounced Murrieta Valley by a score of 119-51 in a non-league meet at Conn Pool. The Cubs have a huge non-league road meet at powerhouse Capistrano Valley on Friday at 3:00 p.m. Loyola's JV squad defeated the Nighthawks, 137-33.

Loyola baseball improves to 2-0 with lopsided win over Walnut
Sophomore ELI PATON went four for four at the plate and collected four RBIs to lead Loyola's varsity baseball team to a 15-2 win in the Bonita Tournament over an undermanned Walnut team at the Mustangs' home diamond on Monday. The game was ended by the Mercy Rule after five innings. The win improves the Cubs' record to 2-0. Loyola hosts Crescenta Valley at 3:15 p.m. this afternoon at Mark P. Robinson Diamond in a Bonita Tournament tilt. 

Cub juniors Keefe and Owens named to All-Mission League basketball squad
Junior post player JAMES KEEFE (6-8, 205) and junior guard NEIL OWENS (6-0, 165) were named to the 2017-2018 All-Mission League honor squad. Keefe, the son of former Stanford and NBA star Adam Keefe, led Loyola in scoring ((14.6 ppg) and rebounding (8.1 rpg). He also had an impressive 57% field goal percentage.

Owens averaged 10.1 points per game and 2.8 assists per contest. The Cubs' entire starting lineup returns next season.

Former Loyola All-American Thomas Welsh earns All-Pac-12 honors
Former Loyola McDonald's All-American THOMAS WELSH '14 was named to the All Pac-12 second team. Welsh is the Bruins' third leading scorer with a 12.7 points per game average and is UCLA's rebounding leader, averaging 10.5 boards per outing.
