Former Cub hoop All-American Thomas Welsh near end of great career at UCLA
The Los Angeles Times published a feature on former Loyola center and McDonald's All-American THOMAS WELSH '14, who has played his way into the UCLA record books in multiple basketball categories. The senior economics major has improved immensely as a scorer, and continues his rebounding and defensive prowess. See the link below:

Loyola basketball plays Redondo Union tonight in first round of CIF D-1 playoffs
Loyola's varsity basketball team (13-12), which finished fourth in the tough Mission League, opens the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs at Redondo Union tonight. Tip off is at 7:00 p.m. The Sea Hawks (18-9, 9-1) were the Bay League champions.

Cub soccer team earns number three seed in CIF Div. I playoffs, has first round bye
Loyola's league champion varsity soccer squad (20-3-5), which did not lose once in its twelve Mission League matches, earned the number three seed in the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs when the brackets were announced Monday by the Southern Section. The Cubs drew a bye in the first round, and will host the winner of the match between Corona del Mar (14-6-1), the second place team out of the Pacific Coast League, and Santa Ana (20-4-2), the Golden West League champion, on Wednesday, February 21 at 3:00 p.m.at Bob Smith Field.
