Loyola puts away Mira Costa with ease in three sets
On Friday night at UCLA's John Wooden Center before thousands of raucous fans cheering on their respective teams, Loyola defeated longtime archrival Mira Costa with relative ease as the the Cubs needed only three sets to corral the Mustangs, 25-15, 25-22, 25-19. The decisive win improved Loyola's record to 15-1. The defending CIF Southern Section Division I champion Cubs are ranked second in the CIF Division I coaches' poll.
Cub lacrosse knocked off perch by Harvard-Westlake
On Saturday in Studio City Loyola was forced to play rival Harvard-Westlake without one of its top players and lost another starter to an apparent knee injury in a 13-12 overtime loss to the Wolverines, who stole a pass and scored the winning goal on a fast break less than a half minute into the OT period. The loss to the number two-ranked lacrosse team in the L.A. region will likely drop the Cubs from their number one ranking. See the link below for an in depth story on the game.

Loyola's undefeated, defending CIF Southern Section Division I champion swim & dive team sunk Notre Dame, 110-59, in Sherman Oaks last week to remain undefeated in the Mission League.
Loyola baseball hopes the corner has been turned
Loyola's varsity baseball team defeated Alemany, 4-0, on Friday in Mission Hills in the final contest of a three game series against the Warriors to secure its first Mission League victory of the season. JOE FORTIN hit a home run and had two RBIs in the win.
On Saturday at Boysen Park in Anaheim, the Cubs were down 5-1 before storming back to defeat Lincoln of Portland, Oregon, 11-6 in the first round of the Anaheim Lions' Tournament.. Loyola is hoping the Alemany victory may have been the turnaround it needed. Today at Mark Robinson Diamond, the Cubs host Regis Jesuit of Aurora, Colorado at 3:30 p.m. in a Lions' Tournament second round game.
