Cub basketball wins OT thriller against Chaminade
Down 36-28 to Chaminade at Leavey Gymnasium at halftime on Monday night, Loyola's varsity basketball team came storming back after intermission to tie the score, 68-68, at the end of regulation.  With two seconds left in overtime you senior KEVIN JOHNSON drained two pressure-packed free throws to give the Cubs a 76-74 victory over the Eagles, marking Loyola's second OT triumph in its last three Mission League contests. Senior guard KHRISTION COURSEAULT, who recently returned to the lineup after being sidelined because of a broken hand, scored 15 points in the thrilling comeback win. The Cubs are now 3-2 in league and 13-5 overall.  Loyola plays at Crespi on Friday at 7:00 p.m.  The Cubs downed St. Francis, 61-51, in their league home opener on Friday.

The JV team downed Chaminade in Monday's under card game, 67-45, to improve its overall record to 16-2 and loop ledger to 4-1.  The freshman squad took out the Eagles, 59-49, to remain undefeated in the Mission League. The frosh are 15-3 overall.  They beat Redondo Union in a Redondo Tournament game on Saturday, 67-45 and dominated St. Francis on Friday, 64-23.

Loyola soccer dominates Chaminade
The Cub soccer squad made quick work of Chaminade on the pitch at Smith Field on Monday afternoon, dispatching the Eagles by a 5-0 score. Loyola shut out St. Francis, 2-0, on Friday on goals by JACKSON McDERMOTT and LUCIANO GAZCON.  Goalie ANTHONY CHAVEZ BORELLI had seven saves in the win over the the Knights.  The Cubs are 9-6-3 overall and 3-1-1 in the Mission League.

Loyola's JV team remains undefeated at 9-0-2 after a 6-0 rout of Chaminade on Monday.
