Cub Football - Winning the close ones

Loyola needs to close strong
There have been many close Cub victories in high stakes games over the years.

Who can forget the great double overtime triumph in the CIF Southern Section semifinals at Home Depot Center in 2003 against Los Alamitos.  This past season's 24-23 epic, come-from-behind victory against archrival Bishop Amat - in which the Cubs scored 10 points in the last 20 seconds of the contest  - ranks as one of the great Loyola triumphs.of all time

What were your favorite last second Cub wins?

Help support Cub Football to finish fast by attending tomorrow evening's Loyola Gridiron Vanguard's Second Annual Cocktail Reception and Dinner Meeting.  The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. at Xavier Center.   DON SWARTZ '64, the 1963 CIF AAAA Player-of-the-Year, will be the guest speaker, and interim varsity head coach Rick Pedroarias will be introduced.  Your presence is important to send the message as to the important role of Cub Football in the great traditions of The High.

Please RSVP at the link below.  Walk-ups will be admitted as well.
