LOYOLA ADDS TWO MORE PLAYERS TO ALL-STATE LISTS
After three Loyola players were honored as All-State Sophomore performers by CalHi Sports, two Cub junior standouts were added to the All-State honors list.
Junior All-Angelus League and L.A. Times All-Southland first team outside linebacker/Edge SCOTT TAYLOR and All-Angelus first team inside linebacker HENRY CASANI, head coach DREW CASANI's '01 nephew, were named to the third team All-State Junior squad.
That brings the number of Loyola underclass All-State selections to five. Certainly that is promising going into the tough Mission League battles that await Loyola in 2024.
MORE ON HARABEDIAN '00 CAMPAIGN EVENT ON JANUARY 23 Yesterday's email provided information on former Loyola lineman JOHN HARABEDIAN's campaign for the California State Assembly, for whom a campaign rally event is being held on Monday at his campaign office located at 2000 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. RSVP information was contained in the email; however, the time of the event was not. The get together is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 p.m. By the large number of responses received it appears many Cub supporters are intending to attend.
LOYOLA 2024 SCHEDULE COMING TOGETHER
Loyola will play five Mission League contests (Bishop Amat, Chaminade, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Gardena Serra and Sierra Canyon) in its return to the Mission League next fall.
The non-league schedule is not yet completely set. As of now, the Cubs are scheduled to play Damien, Culver City and Leuzinger before conference play commences. Loyola is looking to schedule two additional non-league opponents.
