FORMER CUB HAS ACHIEVED AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS
The story of former Loyola center TIM ROGUS '16 is a great one.
In his first three years as a Cub football player, Rogus did not start a single game as a lineman and saw scant playing time. But he toiled relentlessly in the weight room year round.
Finally, through his determined dedication Tim earned the starting center spot on the 2015 squad which finished its season 9-3 and ranked 17th in the state. He played every offensive snap of the twelve game campaign and every snap of his last game with a badly injured knee, which would have kept even the toughest of players sidelined.
Meanwhile, his academic prowess was beyond impressive. He was admitted to one of the world's most prestigious institutions of higher learning, the University of Chicago. Tim played football for the Maroons and graduated with a degree in economics.
After a brief stint in the financial world he answered what for him was a higher calling. He joined the United States Navy officer's training program and currently serves as an officer on a Naval submarine. Tim Rogus embodies the Navy's core values: honor, courage and commitment while serving his nation in the Ignatian spirit of being a man for others.
A hearty salute to Tim.
