LOYOLA MOURNS PASSING OF MIKE LEW ‘86
Beloved Loyola science teacher and longtime assistant football coach 
MIKE LEW was killed in a tragic accident this morning.

The news of Mike’s passing has left all who knew him stunned and grief stricken. Besides being an excellent instructor in the science department, Mike was a stellar assistant football coach at various levels of the football program over the course of four decades. Many who played under his tutelage fondly remember Mike coaching during spring and summer sessions with his year old sons smiling in his baby back pack. A member of the Cubs’ 1985 football squad, Mike had great love for Loyola High School and Cub Football. The majority of his life was spent at 1901 Venice Boulevard as a student, player, coach and teacher, each of which endeavors he pursued with great dedication and passion and performed with excellence. Coach Lew and his endearing spirit will be greatly missed.

Mike leaves behind his wife BRITT, Cub sophomore MIKE, daughter JADE and incoming Loyola freshman DANE.
