Cub Football - Four Loyola seniors earn All-CIF accolades - Multiple Cub juniors have scholarship offers - 2024 football schedule set

FOUR LOYOLA SENIORS EARN ALL-CIF HONORS
Four Loyola seniors were named to the All-CIF Division 4 football team on the CIF Southern Section's recently released 2023 list of top players.

The honorees were safety JAKE ARELLANO, wide receiver KHALIL CUEVA, offensive tackle RYAN TURK, and team MVP and Angelus League Lineman of the Yea, two-way lineman CHAMP WESTBROOKS.

TURK will be playing for Dartmouth next fall and WESTBROOKS will be competing as a scholarship lineman at Arizona State.

ANOTHER SENIOR LINEMAN ACCEPTS SCHOLARSHIP OFFER FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO
Cub left tackle LUKE HARRISON '24 signed a letter of intent to play football for the University of San Diego, bringing the current number of Loyola seniors who will be playing major college football in 2024 to four.

The following Loyola All-Angelus League players have signed letters of intent thus far:
OL LUKE HARRISON (University of San Diego), Edge ISAIAH "IKE" SANDERS (UC Davis), OL RYAN TURK (Dartmouth), OL RASHAD "CHAMP" WESTBROOKS (Arizona State).

It is expected that several other graduating seniors will be naming their college destinations in the near future.

LOYOLA RISING JUNIORS AND ONE SOPHOMORE HAVE IMPRESSIVE NUMBER OF MAJOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS
At least 17 underclassmen who will be suiting up for the Cubs next fall started games in 2023, and many of them have multiple major college scholarship offers.

TWO FORMER CUBS RECEIVE COACHING PROMOTIONS AT UCLA
Former Loyola QB JERRY NEUHEISEL '11 and 2011 All-CIF WR/ safety KODI WHITFIELD '12 received coaching promotions at UCLA.

NEUHEISEL's new title is Passing Game Coordinator and wide receivers coach, while WHITFIELD has the new title of Special Teams Coordinator and cornerbacks coach.

Those announcements were made shortly before Bruins' head coach Chip Kelly announced his departure on February 9th, but hopefully the former Cubs' positions will remain under Kelly's successor.
