Cub Football - All-time Loyola Football team? and Loyola athletics
Cub Football all-time football team
One of the ideas being bandied about by the Loyola Gridiron Vanguard is putting together an all-time Loyola football team. It certainly would be a fun undertaking. From the Callanan brothers' grid exploits of the '30s, to Al Pollard's stardom as the "Loyola Express" in the '40s, to Steve Grady and Mike Bergdahl's single wing stardom in the '60s, from Freddie Brown's incredible rushing feats in the '70s, to Brendan McCracken's All-American play in the '80s, to Drew Casani's jarring hits and Antoine Harris's two-way dominance in the '90s, to the superlative play of Matt Ware and Henry Burge in the 2000s, the all time Cub football squad would likely have to go at least five players deep at every position. Indeed a challenging exercise, but one that generations of former Loyola grid warriors would enjoy debating immensely.
