LOYOLA’S FIRST ROUND DIVISION 3 PLAYOFF GAME AGAINST VILLA PARK HAS BEEN MOVED TO SATURDAY NIGHT ACCORDING TO REPORT
For those Loyola supporters who were dreading the long Friday rush hour slog to Northeast Orange County for the Cubs’ first round CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoff game against Crestview League runner-up Villa Park, that traffic-dominated long haul trek may have just gotten a little lighter.
Steve Fryer, longtime prep sportswriter for the Orange County Register, tweeted a short time ago that the Loyola vs. Villa Park opening round playoff game has been moved to Saturday. Three schools, including Villa Park, in the Orange Unified School District use Fred Kelly Stadium at El Modena High School as their home football venue. After a district meeting it was decided that Villa Park will play Loyola on Saturday (November 6) as both of the other schools (Orange and El Modena) from the district which made the playoffs are first round hosts at the same venue.
A Saturday game will give the Cubs an extra day of practice and allow Loyola to have more fans in the stands. El Modena is located at 3920 E. Spring Street, Orange, CA 92869.
