Hello! News: Darkened Hill Pre-orders, etc
Hello friend! I hope you're well.
Thank you for signing up to my little newsletter. This is my second newsletter of the year, which is about the pace of news I was aspiring to letter.
I'll keep this brief, because I prefer reading concise newsletters myself! Here are today's three points of interest:
1. Darkened Hill & Dale pre-orders are open!
Some of you have subscribed specifically for this notification!
Darkened Hill & Dale is now available to pre-order through BackerKit, if that's your sort of thing. Barring a very slight increase in shipping costs, the pre-orders are the same price as the Kickstarter campaign (which is a chunk less than the planned RRP for once that's all finished).
Along with the actual book (and accompanying collection of handout ephemera, plus the free online reference materials) there's also the option to pick up copies of some of the cool artwork that's being created for the project in the form of postcards and a print.
Anyway, pre-orders will be open until sometime in mid–late September, when things go to print. Click on this big picture or here to visit BackerKit!
2. Trick or Retreat!
Do you like tabletop games, friendly folks, zines, little forays into the countryside, fires, crafts, and not having an actual schedule? If so, consider: Trick or Retreat!
Trick or Retreat is an event I'm running Weds 23rd – Sun 27th October 2024 in Moira, Derbyshire, UK. It's essentially just a few days of hanging out and having a gentle and nice time with others who feel like doing the same kind of thing. It's not an expo or festival or anything like that.
You can find a better description, a big FAQ, and ticket info over at trickorretreat.uk.
To save you reading all that—a full ticket is £175, which includes the event itself, a bed, and meals (and you can still pay in instalments at the moment).
3. WorldCon - Glasgow 2024
I'm not organising this, thankfully, but I am attending. I'm also apparently on three panels (where I'll be trying to formulate thoughts about genre in games, worldbuilding in games, and making stuff whilst having ADHD).
Anyhoo, if you're going and want to meet up, give me a shout! :)

That's it for this newsletter! Thanks for tuning in.
I'm most consistently over on BlueSky of late, if you want to hear from me more than three times per annum. Otherwise, catch you anon!
