VOTE EARLY! Turnout this election is expected to be higher than usual for primaries. Beat the lines and lower the stress by turning out early!

Then put us on your calendar for THURSDAY, AUGUST 6th from 6-7PM! We’ll debrief election results and share all we’ve learned a lot about parent power on our journey. Together, we can chart the possibilities for public education funding!

What $1.4 billion less for education could mean:

Missourians don’t have to guess what might be on the chopping block if schools lose funding. In recent years, we’ve all seen the impact of defunded schools. Losing the single largest source of state revenue could easily mean:

• More 4-day school weeks in districts that can't cover the gap

• Higher student-teacher ratios— bigger classes, less individual attention

• Workforce and career-tech programs are often cut first, because they're expensive to run

• Gifted and talented programs—enrichment programs lack strong mandates 

• Electives—art, music, foreign language, AP offerings, different course options bundled for student interest in medical science, law, etc.

• Services for students with disabilities — Though federally required, the state matches some of these funds, and local programs are often supplemented through other publicly funded programs. 

Dollars mean services. If we lose the funding, we won’t be able to maintain the same quality of teaching and learning.

TODAY AND TOMORROW—THROW DOWN TO BRING “NO on 5” VOTES TO THE POLLS:

Attend your local rally! Meet your people, hear local speakers, and get out the vote together! 

1. Organize the people in your circle with plans to vote. Confusion is the enemy. Most Missourians still don't know Amendment 5 is on the ballot, let alone what's in it. Engage at least 5 of your neighbors, family members, friends with the information they need to make their voting plans and Vote NO on Amendment 5. Track the conversations here.

   

2. Have conversations and pass out flyers in places parents gather, like playgrounds, camp drop off/pick up, youth sports events, etc. Check out our relational canvassing toolkit here and flyer for everything you need.
