Back from the Nebulas

Going to Kansas City made me nervous. Besides the state of Missouri having some questionable legislative policies, a friend who lives a few hours away couldn’t attend due to a family emergency. Even though others reassured me that Kansas City is a safe city and a fun one, it would be my first time traveling to a new place in this uncertain status quo.
I was pleasantly surprised. Traveling had no drama or hiccups, and my Chewbacca backpack got lots of compliments. (Chewie is my travel companion for convention season.) The Nebulas themselves ran smoothly, and I was happy to volunteer to ensure the hybrid side handled any technical difficulties rapidly. It was Pride weekend, so we heard the local Pride parade march past.
We don’t give up easily, those marginalized. Even though other marginalized people stabbed us in the back with their vote last fall and are shocked to find out they have to pay consequences with the rest of us, we’re still resisting with action and joy.
