Another Unexpected Newsletter
Crap this is turning into a biweekly newsletter and that’s not what I wanted! For either of us!
But...
So, today’s Independent Bookstore Day, when we all celebrate our local stores by going out and treating ourselves to a book or three. My personal, local favorite is Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego, but there’s a ton of great stores out there. The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles. Borderlands in San Francisco. Eureka Books. Parallel Worlds in Portland. Brick & Mortar Books in Redmond. Also, my mom will yell at me if I don’t mention her favorite, Sherman’s in Saco, Maine. heck, if you don’t have a bookstore near you, Bookshop.org will find one for you and help get that book you want into your hands.
And I know what you’re thinking. Sweet jeebus, man, I already knew it was Independent Bookstore Day. I’m reading this on my phone while I’m doing a book crawl. You sent out an extra newsletter for this?
Well, shamefully, no...
Y’see, I was browsing the Mysterious Galaxy site to make sure they still had a couple copies of my books there before I directed people to go, y’know, get copies there, and anyway that’s how I learned St. Martin’s has sneakily already put The Off Season out there for preorder! With a cover!!!
So maybe while you’re out supporting local bookstores... maybe you could also consider preordering something through them.
Maybe something like this.
