A Mutual Aid Fundraiser for the Al-Nabih Family in Gaza

Dear Reader,

I’m raffling off this quilt I made to raise money for the Al-Nabih family in Gaza. The Al-Nabih family is Muhammad (24 years old) and his wife Eman (22) and their children Samir (3) and Adam (1.5). Right now, the family is in need of a new tent and clothing for the winter. They're also facing medical needs and struggling to pay for food, which continues to be prohibitively expensive in Gaza.

This quilt is 69“ x 70“ (almost 6' x 6') and is made entirely from second-hand fabrics. It’s the first precision-style quilt I’ve made, where I had to pay attention to make sure all the lines and corners came together. It was my first time using a ruler and rotary cutter while quilting, too.

The quilt is a nod to the poppies of Palestine, and is a reminder that even amidst all the darkness, there's room for the light to shine through.
