Petition to the UK Government

One of our members who comes to our Stirling meetings has asked us to publicise a petition being put to the Westminster parliament by her daughter. The petition calls on the UK Government to introduce statutory paid menstrual leave of up to three days per month for people with conditions such as endometriosis and adenomyosis, following the model introduced in Portugal in 2025.

For those of you unfamiliar with these conditions, Endometriosis is where cells like those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body, and Adenomyosis is a condition where the lining of the womb (uterus) starts growing into the muscle in the wall of the womb. Both can cause considerable pain.

If this is of interest to you and you are a British citizen or UK resident, you can support the petition by following this link: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/732342

Kind regards

Paul
