Resilience - A Note from Neil Barnes
Hello.
A thread that runs through all my stories is resilience. In some cases it’s just people trying to survive, especially in the Small Tales stories, but in Dream Dust it’s people trying to make more of their lives, like most of us naturally do.
We may not always do the best or right things for ourselves all the time, but by and large we try to make sound decisions. Life, unfortunately, does not always cooperate.
A good place to explore resilience is Karla Sayer, whose story begins in Iron Maiden. Just 20 years old, she was an elite athlete, training under her father’s guidance as a powerlifter with bodybuilding on the side. She got derailed. For three years. Now she’s back at the gym, trying to reclaim what she lost.
Resilience. It’s something we could all use.
More later.
