Wellington Planters - Urdd Eisteddfod

Gofynnwyd i'r Ardd helpu gyda'r 'Garddorfa' yn Eisteddfod yr Urdd yn Llanymddyfri gardd a gynlluniwyd ac a grëwyd i'w mwynhau ar y safle gan y Gerddi Botanegol, Yr Ardd ac eraill. Gosododd Adam yn yr Ardd her ar draws Cymru, gan ofyn am ailgylchu welis fel potiau planhigion.

Os ydych yn oedolyn, ac os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn helpu gyda'r gwaith hwn, cysylltwch ag Elizabeth ar y manylion isod erbyn dydd Iau, Mai 18fed, er mwyn iddi allu casglu eich manylion a threfnu cludiant os oes angen.

Prosiect Peilot Trawsffiniol

Mae Portalis yn brosiect trawsffiniol sy'n ceisio dod â chymunedau lleol ynghyd yn siroedd Cymru ac Iwerddon yng Ngheredigion, Wexford a Waterford. Ein hamrywiaeth o ddigwyddiadau a gweithgareddau, gan gynnwys cloddio archaeolegol, arddangosfeydd amgueddfeydd a theithiau cerdded wedi'u curadu gyda'r nod o annog trigolion i gymryd mwy o ran mewn deall eu hanes lleol a helpu i lunio dyfodol eu cymunedau lleol. Maent yn awyddus i greu rhwydwaith trawsffiniol newydd a chynaliadwy sy'n cynnwys cyfranogwyr prosiect o ddwy ochr Môr Iwerddon. Maent yn rhagweld y bydd y rhwydwaith trawsffiniol yn archwilio cyfleoedd i sicrhau cyllid ar gyfer mentrau lleol, datblygu mentrau twristiaeth a threftadaeth newydd yn ogystal â rhannu arferion gorau. Byddant yn cynnal digwyddiad rhwydweithio peilot ddydd Iau, Mai 18fed yn Hyb Cymunedol Penparcau am 7y.p.

I'r rhai sydd â diddordeb mewn bod yn y rhwydwaith, ac i wella cysylltiadau trawsffiniol ymhellach, mae ganddynt gyllid i gwmpasu nifer cyfyngedig o leoedd i deithio gyda nhw ym mis Gorffennaf i gwrdd â chymheiriaid Gwyddelig yn Waterford. Ar gyfer y daith hon, mae ganddynt ddiddordeb arbennig mewn trigolion o ardaloedd targed Llangrannog, Dyffryn Aeron a Phenparcau.

Free Quarry Tour

Hanson Aggregates is welcoming volunteers from The Carbon Community for tours of their Builth Quarry on Friday, May 19^th at 11a.m. for an opportunity to learn more about the mining process and the crushed basalt, an important bi-product, which is used in carbon study. Wellington Planters - Urdd Eisteddfod

Yr Ardd has been asked to help out with the ‘Garddorfa’ in the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llandovery a garden designed and created to be enjoyed on site by the Botanical Gardens, Yr Ardd and others. Adam yn yr Ardd set a challenge across Wales, asking for wellies to be recycled as plant pots.

If you are an adult, and you are interested in helping with this work, please get in touch with Elizabeth on the details below by Thursday, May 18th, in order for her to be able to collect your details and arrange transportation if needed.

If you are a young volunteer, the Eisteddfod are looking for your help to water the plants throughout the week (morning and night, weather dependant).  You will be given a free day ticket for the days you offer to volunteer throughout the week.  You are welcome to volunteer for this job if you are an adult too. Cross-border Pilot Project

Portalis is a cross-border project that seeks to bring together local communities in the Welsh and Irish counties of Ceredigion, Wexford and Waterford. Their range of events and activities, including archaeological excavations, museum exhibitions and curated walks aimed at encouraging residents to become more engaged in understanding their local history and helping to shape the future of their local communities. They are keen to create a new and sustainable cross-border network made up of project participants from both sides of the Irish Sea. They anticipate the cross-border network will explore opportunities for securing funding for local initiatives, developing new tourism and heritage initiatives as well as sharing best-practice. They will be hosting a pilot networking event Thursday, May 18^th at Penparcau Community Hub at 7 p.m.

For those interested in being in the network, and to further enhance cross-border ties, they have funding to cover a limited number of places to travel with them in July to meet with Irish counterparts in Waterford. For this trip, they are particularly interested in residents from the target areas of Llangrannog, the Aeron Valley and Penparcau.
