Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership Meeting

The next hybrid quarterly meeting will take place on Tuesday 21st April 10am-4pm in New Quay.

As well as a talk by Josh the Wildlife Man there will be a FREE BOAT TRIP around Bird Rock. You do not have to attend the meeting or be a member to go on the trip, but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Volunteer Crabber Wanted-for free Crabbing Sessions🦀

Eco minded marine enthusiast wanted to run a nature friendly crabbing session in Fisherman's Rest during the May half term or school summer holidays 2026. The sessions will coincide with high tides, for approx. 4hrs entailing half hours slots. The aim is to help educate children and adults on the importance of plastic free fun by the sea and help them get up close to our crabby friends. There are a limited number of free wooden crabbing nets available use and to keep following the session.

This activity is part of the Teifi Coastal Project funded through LNP-WG-WcVA-Coastal Fisheries.

ACTIVITIES

Springtime Foraging Workshop

Learn how to identify a range of species (edible and poisonous), where to find them, how to harvest them sustainably, their nutritional and medicinal properties in Dynyn on Saturday 11th April 10am – 4pm. Sliding scale costs.

Willow Fedge Workshop

Learn how to plant a living willow fedge, a creative and useful way to use willow on Saturday 18th April 10am-1pm at Bird Farm Alpacas, Lampeter.

Sustainable Allotment Management Course

Learn how to manage an allotment in harmony with nature, using climate-adaptive and organic gardening techniques at the Centre for Alternative Technology. Saturday 11th or Wednesday 22nd April = £65.

  • Nature’s remedies – Herbal Workshop: Sunday 26th April 10am-4pm = £65.

  • Cob Oven Building Workshop - Build a full-size, fully functioning wood-fired cob pizza oven. Saturday 2nd May 9.30am-4pm = £160.

  • Raw Food Workshop - Make a fabulous 4 course menu. Friday 8th May 10am-4pm = £65.

  • Nature’s remedies  - From summer flowers: Sunday 14th June 10am-4pm = £65.

Keep Saturday 25th April free for an afternoon packed with fun activities celebrating swifts… and rhinos too!

Fantastic afternoon helping Caerwedros Memorial Hall celebrate its 75th anniversary with the official opening of Ceredigion’s first swift tower – Hafod y Wennol. See attached.
