Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership Meeting - Save the date.

The next hybrid quarterly meeting will take place on Tuesday 21st April 10am-5pm in New Quay.
As well as exciting speakers we will be organising a FREE BOAT TRIP around Bird Rock. You do not have to attend the meeting or be a member to go on the trip but spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Booking details will follow.

Composting Workshop

Find out about Nature Reserves in Penparcau and how to deal with your garden waste at Penparcau Hub. See attached for 1 hr drop in sessions. Monday 30th March.
Workshop including practical advice regarding, garden waste, composting, wildlife gardening, invasive species and growing your own food.
Refreshments and food from 1.00 p.m.
Free compost bin for Penparcau residents – limited availability

Drop in 1 hr sessions: -
12.00 p.m – 1.00 p.m 1.00 p.m – 2.00 p.m 2.00 p.m – 3.00 p.m
3.00 p.m – 4.00 p.m

Ceredigion community film

We invite you to take part in a short community film, sharing love for our local seas and rivers, inspired by ‘Thank you Sea’ by Surfers Against Sewage. See attached.

Your Wild Patch – March

Free wildlife recording sessions 10am-1pm with West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre. A great way to discover the local wildlife. See attached.

  • Saturday 21st March: Cors Caron Nature Reserve.

  • Wednesday 25th March: Aberystwyth Castle.

HOLIDAY FUN IN NATURE

Wellbeing in the Woods

Spring foraging, music, nature crafting and Easter egg hunting. Sunday 5th April 11am-2pm. Elemental Adventures, Rhydlewis.

Woodland Explorers Club

Holiday drop off session for children aged 6-12 for cooking on fire, green woodwork, trees, hammocks and slacklining= £46 per child. See attached.

  • Thursday 30th July & Thursday 27th August: Taliesin Woods.

Tree Pirates Holiday Club

Drop-off activity days at Llandysul through the school holidays. Booking essential.

Join a live stream of the Mammal Society’s Annual Conference, broadcasting directly from Inverness. Friday 27th March 9.30am-5pm = £40+

The Hedgehog Walk

Walk 3km and raise vital funds for nature between Monday 30th March and Thursday 30th April.

Birding with Branwen

Join Estate Ranger Claire and bird enthusiast Branwen Munn at Llanerchaeron for a friendly bird spotting event in Llanerchaeron. Saturday 21st March 10am-1pm.

Sensory Seas

Join Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre and explore the marine environment using all five senses. Saturday 11th April = £5.04.

FUNDING

Ceredigion Healthier Communities Grant

Grants for up to £5000 for community-led activities to help people keep active, improve mental health, keep socially connected and eat healthily which can help reduce the risk of developing conditions such as Dementia. Closing date: Tuesday 31st March.

Volunteering Wales Strategic Grant Scheme

Strategic grants of between £50,000-£100,000 to develop, build on, new or enhanced approaches and initiatives for volunteering across Wales.

The Ashley Family Foundation

Funding for inspiring environmental sustainability and creative arts in Wales, for the benefit of rural communities and those most in need.
