Ceredigion Nature Festival

The Ceredigion Local Nature Partnership will be holding a festival in Aberystwyth on Saturday 11th July as part of Wales Nature Week.

We are looking for nature enthusiastic individuals, groups and organisations who would like a stand at the event. Do you have something to show, a message to put out, an activity you would like to share or something to sell? Get in touch at biodiversity@ceredigion.gov.uk

West Wales Wild Watch – February

Free wildlife recording sessions open with West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre. Suitable for everyone with all resources provided. See attached.

  • Cwmtydu - Saturday 21st 10-1pm.

  • Llanilar- Saturday 28th 10-1pm.

Trail Champions

Would you like to help develop a sense of pride, ownership and involvement with your community's green spaces? Ceredigion County Council's Public Rights of Way team are launching the 'Trail Champions,' a volunteer scheme that aims to help support and maintain greenspaces, including footpaths and bridleways, along with implementing vegetation management methods that will help improve biodiversity. Aberystwyth Science Cafe

Monday 16th February 7.30pm. Should we grow more hemp? What are the potential outputs and the constraints on its greater adoption? Arts Centre Theatre Bar. All welcome.

Early Spring Forest School

Forest school sessions on Sundays 1.30 – 3.30pm, decided by and structured around abilities and interests of those taking part with Natur Ni – Talisein. From £16 discount for block booking.

Weatherproof Farming

Practical ways to improve soil, pasture and productivity on your farm. Wednesday 25th February 7-9pm. Aberystwyth Rugby Club.

Apple Tree Grafting Corrected details.

Free course (suggested donation £15) to graft and take home an apple tree. Friday 27th February at Yr Ardd. Booking is essential at steve@tysulyouth.org. See attached.

Ancient Tree Inventory Training

A day of learning how to record ancient, veteran and notable trees in Wales. Tuesday 3rd March 10am-3.30pm at Plas Tan y Bwlch = £5.

Building Peace with Nature Workshop

Explore the relationship between humans and other species, the rights of nature and the reciprocal relationship of stewardship and well-being that brings us together at Aberystwyth University Wednesday 4th March.

Ocean Screening

Free screening of this film at Arad Goch, Aberystwyth on Thursday 5th March, 6pm
Plus a Q&A with a panel of inspiring people working to protect our seas locally. Booking is available through the attachment.

Wales AgriFood Tech Innovation Expo

Explore the latest insights, partnerships, and opportunities shaping the future of agri-food technology. Thursday 5th March 10am – 3.30pm in Aberystwyth.

Antarctic Invertebrates

Learn about the terrestrial invertebrates found in Earth's most extreme continent: Antarctica. Thursday 5th March 1-2pm.

Llettytwppa Farm

Owned by Ceredigion County Council, this is being transformed into an educational site for pupils who wish to follow courses related to the agricultural and horticultural sectors.

  • Open Day for everyone - Enjoy a day full of activities and demonstrations and take the opportunity to discuss the training opportunities that will be available. Friday 6th March 10am-3pm.

Ancient Tree Inventory - Recording Day

A day of recording ancient, veteran and notable trees in Machynlleth with guidance on recognising and recording. Saturday 7th March 10.30am-3.30pm.

-   Forest School Level 3 Training: Tuesdays from March – November = £1020.

  • Level 2 Nature Based Activity Leader: Tuesday 10th – Friday 13th March 9.30 am - 4.30 pm = £800.
