Remember Marlboro Man? Geico Cave Man? Salvatores.com owner? Darryl’s Intrigued by owners and leaders of businesses in a self-deprecating way. IE, William Mattar: goofy, affable, approachable.
There’s a lot to be said for owners who makes themselves as approachable characters. Nice guy on TV and it works. Maybe we need to use ourselves in a similar way to be presentable, approachable, someone people trust and want to do business with.

Presentation: Becoming an Attractive Insurance Risk
On both personal and commercial sides, there’s a lot of turmoil in the market, talking mostly about Property and Casualty. Robert gave an overview of what insurance is and does. Insurance is a tool to spread risk.
Good risk characteristics:
Claims: frequency, severity, and type.
Carrier Appetite: Does the ins co have the interest, capacity, servicing ability to extend an offer or is it outside of their guidelines?
Financial Considerations: Credit score, financial statement, business ratings, fiscal reviews, etc.
Factors & Practices: Predictable (driving violations, types of equipment or vehicles, building type & maintenance, etc.) and less predictable (fires, slips/falls, floods, theft, power issues, etc.)
Personal Insurance solutions: Guard claims, Protect driving record, ask for discounts (Tip: you can take online defensive driving class and get a discount!), other factors.
