Marketing Minute: Darryl Powell
Darryl told us “The Tale of Two Business Owners”:
He’d needed battery for watch, so he went to a shop but got there early. He saw the woman open the store a little early so he went in, but she shouted, “we’re not open yet, come back in a few minutes!” Darryl decided to just go down the street and purchase his battery from another store.
Separately, shop owner Ben Johnson had a habit: when he closed up for the day, he’d go out the entrance and check up and down street to see if anyone looked like they might be in a rush, possibly to get to his store in time before Ben closed. Sometimes there’d be someone that he could help, sometimes not. But what it meant for him was: of course, one more sale but, most importantly, one more happy customer and continuing great customer service.
Darryl gave us two extremes of customer service: go away, we don’t want your business; and, just take a little extra step to help your customers. How do we want to be treated as customers? As well as, how do we want to treat our own customers?

Tom walked through various features of the reports he provides, from photos to video to diagrams and requirement images to easily illustrate whatever issue(s) he comes across.
He also showed a Request List in the event of a negotiation. This section has all of the categories from the report with each listing out the issues. The buyer can select the items they want to address during the negotiation process as well as comments to provide more detail. Saves as PDF to send to other agent, is available for all time.
