Marketing Minute: Kevin LoCicero

Kevin passed out a quick 55 second test of math problems, then gave everyone 30 seconds to complete. The result? If you did the easy ones first, they formed an X. The takeaway? On your daily to-do list, tackle your easy problems first to get things done, then work on the harder ones. You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment and be incentivized to take on the harder or more time-consuming tasks.

Darryl started out with Diamond Dan Publications, a very niche business providing gems & minerals coloring books, but was told he needed to branch out. So he added adult coloring books for other organizations, which is a huge industry! He focuses on good old fashioned kid-sized imagery so everyone can enjoy - especially older people who may have mobility or visual challenges.

He’s having Rick Hall do the printing. Think about doing one for your business so when you meet with customers, leave one behind and they and/or their family can enjoy.

Beyond that, he started working with people who wanted to publish their literary endeavors - and there are good writers out there! Large publishing houses ask if they’re going to be able to make a lot of money to publish someone’s book, and this answer is: probably not. But with advent of digital publishing, Darryl can now make it happen; he’s able to work with folks of all different interests and he passed around examples of his clients’ works. He’s also, as of yet, not been able to sell out every title - impressive!

An additional tip: upload it to Kindle/Amazon, order as needed so you can manage your cash flow more easily. Higher quality and lower cost allows him to make someone’s publishing dream become a reality.
