Marketing Minute: Bill Mayback
Bill shared how everyone can market their business better:
Engage the audience, remember the why and who but don’t oversimplify
Identify and target your demographic - create a focused and narrow net
Resist temptation to overcomplicate things
Presenters:
Tom Brezlawski: The power of referrals: Highlighting a referral passed to him by Robert, noticed a safety concern issue with furnace. Called Dale, our HVAC Subject Matter Expert, to see if he’d check it out.
Dale Sparks: A member for 11-12 yrs, NRG has helped him grow as a presenter. Also highlighted how he refers multiple members all the time - accountability is huge.
Chris Moulton: 10, 11 yr member. He was nervous when he first joined, almost turned around and left. NRG helped him overcome public speaking fears and has gotten comfortable with members and able to speak in front of guests. He also has a book of business cards of all members and people know they can come to him to refer responsible and reliable folks.
Darryl Powell: His son told him to network. He loves what he does but hates having to ‘sell’ but realized he didn’t know what he didn’t know. He was languishing in his home office but got out, joined NRG - whole new world and networking has expanded his world.
Shantae Russell: He’s now 2 years in. At first, he wasn’t sure if he was going to stay and he’s busy with work travel, but a member asked him to lunch. Was asked if he wanted to stay a member and was surprised to learn members noticed he was missing and that they cared. He realized how important this was for him and he’s grateful for the power of NRG.
