Marketing Minute: Chris Moulton

Chris spoke about how the importance of helping people, even though they may not be paying for service at that time, comes back to benefit your business time and time again.

He’d spent an hour with a woman who came in needing help with her phone and he was happy to provide assistance without charging her. A year later, she remembered how he helped and she’d kept his card so she reached out. She needed to buy two phones and asked if it would help if she came and bought them or should she just order online? Of course it would help him and so he now had a new customer.

Chris said this is just one example of many but shows how just helping folks out can bring repeat customers down the road: planting those seeds that, later on, will grow.

Krista walked us through a thought provoking exercise where we imagined we’re preparing to go to a funeral and then realize it’s our own. Who’s there? Who will speak? What will they say? Then she had us write down what she’d want a chosen person to say about us.

The purpose of this was to ask: Are you who you want to be? If not, why? What values are important to you? Are your values aligned with how you’re currently showing up?

With Hudson Life Coaching, Krista takes people from where they are to where they want to be, focusing on values, desires and dreams. She helps her clients take things deeper than just surface level answers, asks opened-ended questions and challenges limiting beliefs, assumptions and interpretations.
