Sanctions Update: Russia
This news release is issued to publicise the amendment of one entry under the Russia sanctions regime. The Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 have effect in the Isle of Man by the Sanctions (Implementation of UK Sanctions) Regulations 2024 ('the Regulations'), which are made under the Sanctions Act 2024. This regime imposes financial, trade, aircraft, shipping and immigration sanctions for the purposes of encouraging Russia to cease actions which destabilise Ukraine, or undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence of Ukraine. Individuals and entities who are designated under this regime are included on the UK Sanctions List. Types of sanctions applicable under this regime: Asset freeze Other financial and investment restrictions Trade Immigration Aircraft Ships On 13 February 2026 the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office updated the UK Sanctions List. This list provides details of those designated under sanctions legislation. Amendment One entry has been amended on the UK Sanctions List and is still subject to an asset freeze and trust services sanctions. Deleted information appears in [square brackets]. Additional information appears in italics. The Treasury has updated the structure of the Sanctions and Export Control website to make key information easier to find and navigate. These improvements have resulted in several changes to the layout of the Financial Sanctions General Guidance and related pages. What's new New 'Sanctions List' page Information previously contained within the General Guidance has now been moved to a dedicated Sanctions List page. This allows users to access sanctions listings more efficiently New 'Reporting' page All reporting requirements and submission guidance have been separated into their own Reporting page to provide clearer, easier access to compliance information Updates to the 'Sanctions Relating to Terrorism and Terrorist Financing' page This page now includes new sections on proposals of designations, offering greater clarity about how proposed listings are considered and processed These updates relate only to the location and presentation of information. There are no changes to the underlying sanctions obligations or legal requirements. The revised pages are available on the Government website, and users are encouraged to review the updated layouts and new style Financial Sanctions General Guidance. Manx Care Opens New Elective Surgical Unit
Manx Care is delighted to announce the opening of its new Elective Surgical Unit on Ward 7 at Noble’s Hospital, marking a major milestone in the hospital’s commitment to delivering outstanding care for patients. Opening on 13 February 2026 to patients, the Unit will provide inpatient care for planned surgical and gynaecological procedures. This Ward is for elective surgery only thereby reducing cancellations and improving efficiency in our surgical theatres. Teresa Cope, CEO of Manx Care, said: 'These improvements reflect our commitment to delivering the highest standards of care for our community. We are grateful for the support of our partners and look forward to the positive impact these changes will bring for patients, families and staff alike.' The hospital extends its thanks to the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group for their generous contributions and continued support.
