3FM · Politics · 16:11 Councillor announces bid for Keys seat • A Douglas councillor says he's hoping to swap the local authority for the House of Keys this year. • Peter Washington, who was elected to the local authority in 2021, announced on his Facebook page he’d stand in Douglas North. • He’s a former paramedic and RNLI crew member as well as a trade union activist and says if elected he’d work to improve housing and protect tenants’ rights.

3FM · Island News · 10:40 Southern 100 rider's stolen equipment returned • An Island racer says he's glad to have an awning back, after it was stolen from the Southern 100 paddock at the weekend. • Paul Cassidy took to Facebook to appeal for its return after it went missing in the early hours of Saturday, July 4. • In a post on Facebook, he says the awning has now been returned and thanked all those who helped reunite him with it.

IoM Today · Sport · 13:50 Sports programme confirmed for 2031 Island Games • The Swedish island of Gotland is set to host the Games for a third time. • Archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, football, golf, gymnastics, judo, shooting (clay and rifle), swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball will be part of the programme for the games in the Swedish island. • It was confirmed over the weekend that the biennial festival of sport will be held in the Baltic Sea island for a third time at the International Island Games Association’s annual general meeting.

3FM · Culture · 13:42 Concerns over salmon population prompt fishing restrictions • Worries over Atlantic salmon has led the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to introduce restrictions for fishers. • DEFA says the fish’s declining population means it’s introduced voluntary conservation measures for the coming season, with catch-and-release only fishing and the use of barbless hooks. • More potential regulatory measures are being looked at for 2027 as DEFA tries to help the salmon population recover.

3FM · Island News · 06:59 Peel jetty fencing is to keep public out, says DOI • The Department of Infrastructure says it's installed fencing around a Peel landmark to keep the public out for safety reasons. • A Freedom of Information request asked about fencing at Castle Jetty and East Pier, which has developed large cracks threatening the structure. • In its response, the department said fencing it already owned had been used to seal off the jetty after engineering advice.

3FM · Law · 06:44 Police record rise in domestic incident crimes • The number of crimes tied to domestic incidents rose by nearly 17 percent over the past year. • According to figures from the chief constable’s annual report, the amount of crimes rose from 203 to 237. • However, there were fewer offences recorded under the Domestic Abuse Act - those fell from 68 to 43 over the same period.
