'More refined' CRHS plan due before end of administration

The chief minister has pledged to bring a 'more refined' plan for the replacement of Castle Rushen High School to Tynwald before the end of this administration. Alfred Cannan confirmed the project had been left out of this year's Budget because the final tender price is not yet known. The Department of Education, Sport and Culture previously committed to finalising costs by early April, with a view to starting work in the summer.

Council warns against using Bottleneck Car Park today

Motorists are being urged not to use the Bottleneck Car Park this morning as an amber weather warning for coastal overtopping is due to come into force. Ronaldsway Met Office is warning waves will impact coastal routes between 10am and 2pm today. As a result, Douglas City Council is recommending the public avoid the car park in order to protect them and their vehicles.

Crookall: Last-minute talks still taking place over bus strike

The Department of Infrastructure says it had believed industrial action by bus drivers would not proceed while further talks were ongoing. However, Minister Tim Crookall says strike action is now due to begin on Saturday (21 February), despite what he describes as an agreement between the union and the department. He says both pay offers submitted by the DOI have been rejected.

Manx Care's mandate 'properly funded for the first time', says CEO
