THE LOST REMOTES 2025 WORLD TOUR!
The first stop of our Lost Remotes band World Tour was at a neighborhood block party/picnic not far from our usual practice studio at subscriber Scott N’s house.
Although the day was (unseasonably) warm, we had a great turnout and got some excellent feedback from our legion of new and old fans. Read more here. There is also an embedded video of our version of “Cry Like a Baby”. Turn your sound up!
Our second stop of the Tour is already scheduled for Sunday, August 17 at the Kenton Street Fair. Not much to report yet (since it hasn’t happened) but here is a promotional poster. For those of you that live out of town, make your travel arrangements now! We are expecting a groovy 30 minute set.
SOME EARLY MORNING PHOTOGRAPHY

RE-READING DUNE
I saw that reading Dune in June is a thing for some reading groups, so I decided to join in, on my own schedule and terms. I had last read the book about a year ago, but this time around I decided to specifically identify philosophical themes. A brief overview of this project is here, and in the future I plan to combine my notes and thinking into some essays, or mini-essays. I’m still undecided if y’all will be interested enough for me to publish them.
I’m also undecided if I should tackle the next two books in the trilogy.
OVERVIEW AND GAME PLAY FOR THE BOARD GAME RED DUST REBELLION

I’ve long been interested in games and puzzles of all kinds, and this game is the latest in a series of aysmmetrical games with multiple factions. It’s part of a series of games called COIN (COnterINsurgency) which are published by GMT Games in Hanford, CA. I’ve played most in the series, and RDR is by far the most different and most complex of any in the series that I’ve played. I found it quite interesting, and you can read more here. I’m hoping I can get some more plays in soon.
