The Lost Remotes 2025 World Tour
As reported in the last newsletter, the 2025 World Tour kicked off at a local block party/picnic. The second stop was at the annual Kenton Street Fair. We played there last year and had even more fans this time, surprising given the 10 am Sunday morning performance time. (It’s never too early for psychedelic jug band music!). Details are here. Thanks to Monique F. we also have some performance video!
The third stop was just a week later, performing as part of a gaggle of musicians to help celebrate the 100 year anniversary of a local building (that currently houses a local pub). Unfortunately, Scott N. became ill so we had to cancel the gig.
Stay tuned at allenmartin.org for updates on the 2025 World Tour!
Daily Diary/Visual Journal Project
“Life is what happens to us when we are making other plans” is a quote attributed to John Lennon. I find that regular reflection helps me to stay aware of the little twists and turns we all experience.
Earlier this year I began daily record keeping. I’ve combined diary techniques from Lynda Barry, along with the ideas of Austin Kleon, to use this same system as a creative outlet. Memory keeping/scrapbooking are included also. You can read more on the tools and techniques that I’m using here, along with several examples from my own work. Maybe you’ll be inspired to start your own project?
