Thinking Inside and Outside the Box Newsletter 006 July 8, 2024

Summer has arrived and it’s finally the dry season. I notice more umbrellas around here now than during the rainy season!
In this newsletter I’m sharing some original photos, a recipe, some original writing, and then some book notes.
ORIGINAL PHOTOS
What’s a Harmonica Party? It’s a harmonica centric musical jam session. My pal Arthur sets these up and they are open to all harmonica players, of all skill levels. You can see more photos here.

I’VE BEEN PROMOTED TO PLANT MANAGER

Last winter featured an extended stretch of cold icy weather and many outdoor plants suffered. We replaced all of the ones on our balconies and they are doing well. You can see the rest of the plants here.
4TH OF JULY STREET FESTIVAL
A complete photo essay is here.

For part of the year a local street is closed off during the First Thursday of each month for arts vendors, restaurants, and musicians to ply their trade. This year the first Thursday was on July 4 and the event was quite a bit larger than usual.
