What's Up Wednesday #7 - The Scoreboard of Life, Don't miss out on what you want to do, Don't get trapped & Tech Interview Questions
The Scoreboard of Life
๐ I wrote an article about why judge our performance relative to others and why it would be healthy to stop this. Check it out.
Work and Passion
๐จPeople are missing out on things that they actually want to do because they are too busy reflecting and saying yes to stuff that they shouldn’t.
๐ฒIf you walk in the woods, you are likely to bump into a tree. So if you are looking for ‘trees’ (replace with what you are looking for in your life) look where the largest ‘forest’ (replace with the community which possesses what you are looking for) is. And then go there to increase your chances of success dramatically. For someone wanting to start the next Google, Silicon Valley is probably (still) the place to be.
๐Do you feel that reading just one more book, enrolling in one more online course, listening to just one more podcast would get you that last bit of critical information you would need to make something big happen? You are trapped. If you don’t face something specific you need to overcome, you need to start moving.
Quote of the week
๐ฃโA human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.โ โ Robert A. Heinlein
