A double-soft-launch

Aytch, Taylor & Co.

The Beginning

Okay hey!
First off thanks for subscribing and hanging out for a couple minutes.
It means a lot that you’re interested enough in my, let’s be honest—highly eclectic mix of interests and meandering art styles.

This newsletter will serve as a more centralized jumping point for updates on my projects, convention and festival appearances, and general art-related endeavors.

My plan is to eventually relaunch my patreon in conjunction with efforts toward a kickstarter campaign. Ergo: double-soft-launch.

The plan is to get my graphic novel, Hexslingers, out of my head and into your hands.
The wider publishing industry, in its current state, does not have a place for Katie Heck and her Hexslinger cohorts, and so self-publishing is the way to go.

More to come soon.

In the mean time…

The Middle

Hexslingers will have its own soft-launch this coming Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Rochester Indie Comics Expo (RICE) in Rochester, NY.

The poster for the Rochester Indie Comics Expo for 2025 featuring art by Alesha Williams. The Art is in bold, chunky shapes and fantastically saturated colors featuring a bowl of rice (RICE 2025 ahaha that's very good) with boots and gloves and a sword, leaping through the air and out of harms way of a Dragon's fiery breath. The rice bowl and the dragon are facing off!

RICE is being held at

Sibley Square
240 E. Main St., Rochester, NY 14604

On Saturday April 12, 2025 from 11am-4pm!

RICE is an incredible show! I’ve had the fortune of tabling there for the past couple years and this year I will be debuting Hexslingers as it currently exists: 18 Pages of genuine(jen-you-wine) full color comics, written and drawn by yours truly(that’s me).
The booklet also includes information about the comic and some older concept art as backmatter.

a 24 page saddle-stitch booklet containing all of my current Hexslingers preview pages, the cover is a poster-style illustration of the main characters. at the top, Katie Heck, her poncho swinging out behind her, her arms held steady wielding her six-shooter-like wand below and to the right "Doc" Willoughby holding his mech arm and looking to the side. below and to the left Riley C. Coop, lit in green clutching a wanted poster, he looks angry. and below all of them, the wreck of a horse-drawn cart, engulfed in green flame, smoke billowing out and to its right a pair of figures who have been in a fire fight.
The cover for “Hexslingers” - in its current saddle-stitch form.

I’m really looking forward to having this out in the world for the first time.

And, understandably, if you’re not able to make it to this show, fear not! I’ll soon have it available for ordering from my Etsy Store, and eventually digital versions as well!

I guess that brings us to…
