Happy New Year!

And so concludes 2025, a year of multitudes. Thank you all for joining me on the journey of this newsletter! I wanted to send a wee recap email for 2025 because it certainly has been full and varied.

Releasing my debut album Martin iz Zgornje Bele was an absolute highlight -in case you haven’t listened yet, it is on all the main streaming sites and also here on bandcamp:

I’ve started recording new music and played a number of shows around Aotearoa, a particular delight was the album release show at the Pitt Street Methodist Church in Tāmaki Makaurau and providing live music with Georgia Knight for Natural Hand and Lela Jacobs’ fashion show I Made my Coat a Mountain. Very soon there will be a hometown show in Lyttelton on the 10th of Jan. There are still tickets left!

I did a number of lectures to do with film and creativity, most notably my Two Stones lecture, which I held twice at University of Canterbury. On a similar note, 2025 was the year I formalized my research about social media addiction into a talk called Disentangling from social media in 68 increasingly complex steps. In 2026, I am hoping to release a workbook that will be both a summary and the full manifestation of this work.

We also filmed a proof of concept scene for my next drama feature film Maria, Take a Bow, which has been many many years in the making and its looking like 2026 might be the year it finally sees the light of day -lots of work ahead.

I released 8 music videos (watch this space for a re-upload soon of Georgia Knight’s Desire), and here they are in case you wanted to re-watch or catch up on something you may have missed:
