The Cuatro Amigos

Camino de Santiago

One Day More - From les Miserables

One more day - Diamond Rio

One more try - George Michael

One more time- Blink 182

Whichever it is, we got one more day! One more day of hiking and we arrive in Santiago tomorrow afternoon! We’ve walked about 400 miles to get here (not counting the odd taxi or train), and well, to be honest, we are ready to get there! Amen to that!

Just a short newsletter today, as all we did was hike. And eat.

The last week in Galicia has been some of the prettiest scenery so far.

we Still started at 7AM in the dark. Sunrise was about 8:45AM or so.

Drew and Terry hit this cafe with a great garden for an early coffee

Here’s some hurricane damage to this poor farmers corn crop. everything knocked down but a few stalks. At each fallen tree i take a few moments to look for a Roman or crusader era coin in the root ball hole. Nothing yet.

yet another sunken lane. Cue Lord of the Rings!
I took this for my master gardener sisters. It’s actually a holly bush! About 12 feet tall.

Finally, after only what, 30+ days, we just ran across the street from our hostel and got lunch materials for a picnic. Ham and cheese sandwiches, wine, coke, and some cookies. Oh and two loaves of bread for like 79 cents each. Still warm!

Our host was excited to tell us that our room came with free breakfast. Breakfast consists of coffee, tea, or cereal.

Terry thought this cereal was worth a mention in the newsletter. I’m excited for the Honey Ballz because I have not had a bowl of cereal (or milk) for 30 days. I asked our host if there was milk in the fridge? He replied “No, go across the street to the grocery to get some”. Which I did. And a box of donuts somehow jumped into my bag at checkout along with the milk.

Heading to dinner soon… I hope I can talk my amigos into a Mexican restaurant in town.
