The Signal — Morning Briefing By Mantis Money
MARKET SNAPSHOT
BTC is sitting at $81,560, up 1.7% on the day. ETH is holding $2,378, up 0.8%. Total market cap clocks in at $2.78 trillion with the Fear and Greed Index parked dead at 50 — neutral, no strong conviction either way. Not a lot of drama on the surface, but the on-chain picture tells a different story. More on that below.
DEFI PULSE
Pool-level data is thin this morning — nothing cleared our filters for active liquidity. That said, on-chain alert volume tells us the market is far from quiet. 311 alerts fired in the last 24 hours, with some serious capital movement happening between wallets. We're watching closely.
TOKEN MOVEMENTS
DOGE — up 2.8%. The biggest mover in the top 10 today. No major catalyst — this looks like retail momentum piggybacking on broader market green. Classic Doge behaviour, trade it accordingly.
SOL — up 2.7%. Solana continues to grind. Network activity has been solid and developer sentiment remains strong. This isn't a spike, it's a trend worth respecting.
BTC — up 1.7%. Bitcoin leading with steady upward pressure. No major macro news driving it — more a case of the market finding its footing after recent chop.
XRP — up 1.5%. Quiet move with no obvious headline attached. Likely following BTC's lead. Regulatory clarity narrative continues to simmer in the background.
Trending: FIRO, PENGU, ZEC, WOJAK, TON. Zcash and Firo trending simultaneously is worth a note — privacy coin interest tends to cluster. Whether that's macro-driven concern or rotation from retail is unclear, but it's a pattern worth watching.
HEADLINE EVENT
The standout from overnight: two separate transfers of 118.5 million USDC each — roughly $118.5 million a pop — moved between unknown wallets. On top of that, two transfers of 17,875 WETH each (approximately $62.5 million apiece) also hit the alerts. That's well over $360 million in large transactions across just a handful of moves, all flagged between unidentified addresses. At this scale, it's either institutional positioning, exchange rebalancing, or something worth keeping a close eye on. Unknown wallets at this size rarely stay unknown for long.
THE ALPHA — PAID TIER
Those repeated WETH transfers — 710 WETH, four times in quick succession to unknown wallets — aren't random noise. There's a pattern in the timing and sizing that Alpha subscribers are getting the full breakdown on today, including what the cluster behaviour historically signals in the lead-up to volatility events. If you're not on Alpha, you're reading the headline without the story.
