BTC is holding at $63,112 (+0.3%) and ETH is essentially flat at $1,703.34. Total market cap sits at $2.26T, but the number worth paying attention to is the Fear and Greed Index: 14. That's Extreme Fear territory. Markets aren't panicking loudly — they're quietly bleeding, which is often more dangerous.

DEFI PULSE

Base is where the action is. Two pools — Polymarket/USDC and SpaceX/USDC — both on Uniswap v4 Base, posted 24h volume changes north of 99,000%. That's not a typo. Combined they pushed over $227M in volume against a combined TVL of just $2.3M. That's a volume-to-TVL ratio that raises eyebrows.

Aerodrome continues to grind. The WETH/USDC and cbBTC/USDC pools on Aerodrome Slipstream clocked $82M and $72M respectively, with the cbBTC pool running 37,268 transactions — the highest transaction count in today's top 10 by a wide margin.

Stablecoin routing is heavy. USDC/USDT pools across Uniswap v4 Ethereum and Fluid Ethereum combined for over $250M in volume. When that much capital is parked in stable-to-stable, it tells you risk appetite is low. Consistent with the Fear and Greed reading.

TOKEN MOVEMENTS

HYPE (+3.1%) — Top gainer in the top 10. Hyperliquid's native token pushing against the broader sideways drift. No single catalyst confirmed, but perps activity on Hyperliquid has been elevated.

TRX (+0.9%) — Quietly catching bids. TRON's stablecoin volume and network activity remain sticky, and TRX tends to hold up when risk-off sentiment drives flows into high-yield stable farming.

FIGR_HELOC (+1.5%) — Unusual to see this in the top 10. A tokenised home equity product making the market cap list is worth watching for what it signals about RWA appetite, even if the absolute move is modest.

XRP (-1.3%) — The day's notable underperformer. No fresh news driving it. Likely profit-taking from recent strength combined with broader risk-off positioning.

SOL (-0.7%) — Muted but softer. With HYPE gaining and Base ecosystem active, Solana narrative attention may be shifting. Watch ecosystem TVL flows over the next 48 hours.

HEADLINE EVENT

Something large moved in the dark last night. On-chain alerts flagged two separate transfers of 4,903.60 WBTC — worth approximately $308M each — between unknown wallets. That same window saw 14,218 WETH move twice and $194M in USDC shift in a single transaction. The wallets are unidentified. Whether this is exchange rebalancing, institutional custody moves, or something more pointed, nobody can say yet — but that volume of unnamed movement in Extreme Fear conditions warrants close attention.
